This autumn has been an especially busy one here at EML Wildfire, with a record number of client product launches and media tours to organise. Our teams have been working hard securing media briefings and press interest to ensure our clients’ news turns heads. Here’s a summary of our launch highlights.
eyeSight media tour
September saw EML Wildfire undertake an ambitious project to garner publicity for its Israeli gesture control technology client, eyeSight.
eyeSight was already attending a small trade show in London, and while the spokespeople were in town EML Wildfire recommended lining up a media tour over several days to meet some of the higher-level press, making the most efficient use of eyeSight’s time.
Over the three days the firm was in London, EML Wildfire secured meetings with The BBC, CNN, Wired and The Register amongst others, while still providing close, personal support on the ground throughout.
As a result eyeSight not only had the opportunity to leverage a speaking slot at the conference they were attending, with EML Wildfire shaping and structuring the talk itself, but also got to spend a day of filming with The BBC and some extensive coverage on Click.
Raspberry Pi 512MB launch
Last month, EML Wildfire got in the spirit of supporting British manufacturing with its client element14, the first collaborative community and electronics store for design engineers (part of global electronics distributor Premier Farnell).
The team announced that element14, which acts as a distributor of Raspberry Pis, will be using a new UK manufacturer based in Pencoed, South Wales for its products. EML Wildfire had phenomenal success with this announcement, securing extensive top-tier coverage and even being the third most read story on the BBC News website.
Further to this success, October saw EML Wildfire launch the new 512MB Raspberry Pi board for element14. The credit-card sized computer has double the RAM of previous versions and a higher performance, allowing it to run a future version of an Android 4.0 operating system.
EML Wildfire gained coverage for the product launch in all the client’s key media including; The Wall Street Journal, The Next Web, TechCrunch, Electronics Weekly, New Electronics, TechRadar and many others.
Humax YouView and Freesat launches
Over the last few months the Humax team at EML Wildfire have been working tirelessly on not one, but two huge product launches.
Humax, the digital set-top box specialist, launched its eagerly awaited DTR-T1000 YouView box mid-summer. The box acts as a gateway to a fantastic range of live, on-demand and catch-up TV content from YouView.
Following the press announcement, EML Wildfire organised an extensive journalist reviews process for Humax’s key media targets. The team was on hand throughout the process offering journalists technical support and answering media questions.
As a result, the DTR-T1000 box received overwhelmingly positive coverage with an average review score of 4.5/5 stars. MSN Tech, Pocket-lint, and TechRadar reviewed the box, as well as others such as Expert Reviews who awarded Humax with 5 stars.
EML Wildfire is also proud to announce that following these reviews, the Humax DTR-T1000 box was awarded with the best Freeview set-top box award at the What Hi Fi? Sound and Vision Awards 2012.
And now the team are doing it all again with the launch of the Humax HDR-1000S Freesat with <free time> box. Focused on a seamless viewing experience, the box offers a range of new features in a single, simple on-screen TV guide.
Having just begun the reviews process, EML Wildfire has already seen positive coverage in CNET, Recombu and others.
Nero 12 launch and media tour
At the end of September, EML Wildfire organised an impressive media tour of London and Bath for its client Nero, the leading multimedia software developer.
To launch Nero 12, the new software from Nero, which allows editing of video, photo and audio content and is compatible with Windows 8, EML Wildfire organised for the firm to come over from Germany and brief its key media on the new product.
Over the two days that Nero was in the UK, EML Wildfire secured one-on-one journalist briefings with eight of their key media including; PC Format, Tech Radar, PC Pro and Expert Reviews.
Last, but not least, just last week EML Wildfire embarked upon an exciting project for its semiconductor client XMOS.
With XMOS launching sliceKIT, an update to its development board system, xTIMEcomposter, a new development suite and xSOFTip, a major update to its IP library all in October EML Wildfire had plenty to play with!
Following a series of press announcements the team has already secured coverage in XMOS’s key media including EE Times, New Electronics and Electronic Specifier. With press interest remaining very high, EML Wildfire expects to see coverage continue over the next few weeks.
