Enterprise content delivery networks (ECDNs) aren’t “sexy”, but they dramatically simplify the distribution of vital security updates to mitigate the risk of cyberattack. With Microsoft forcing users to upgrade from Windows 7 in January, the deadline gave Kollective’s technology a compelling purpose: IT teams had to upgrade their operating system, and fast.

Combining interactive content, creative stunts and a doomsday clock, we counted down the key milestones to the “death” of Windows 7. This year-long campaign culminated in a funeral for the outdated OS on the official end-of-life date. With a branded tombstone, floral tributes and mourners, our award-winning campaign gave Windows 7 a send off fit for a king.
